Grand Schema has a history of producing cutting edge sports documentaries utilizing the latest in digital camera technology.
Grand Schema's latest production initiative is to shoot natively in 4K to 6K for all of its current and future productions.
Grand Schema is based on the Lower East Side of Manhattan and co-owns a boutique post-production facility Domicile NYC. The team, with a combined 45 years of experience, has formed a turnkey operation crafting projects from script to screen.
In the past years, Grand Schema has grown by leaps and bounds, taking on new and interesting projects all the time. Grand Schema Inc. is focused on creating quality productions that tell compelling stories. As the company continues to expand, this complete head-to-tails operation is set to continue its high standard of work on a growing scale.
Producer/director Christopher J. Scott and his brother, editor Glen Scott have been working together on a number of films and television projects for the past 15 years. The brothers also have a diverse production background with experience in producing multi-camera concert films, sports documentaries as well as political and historical programs.
When they sold their production company Great Scott! Films, Christopher and Glen wanted to capitalize on their yin and yang partnership with creative autonomy. In 2012, they teamed up with longtime friend and business associate Jason Birnbaum to form Grand Schema Inc., later bringing in John Molli to head up the financial arm of the company.
Grand Schema also employs a growing network of talented freelancers, partnering with experienced and creative people who fit each project’s particular needs.
Recent Grand Schema productions include indie features Anesthesia, written and directed by Tim Blake Nelson with a cast featuring Kristen Stewart, Glenn Close, Sam Waterston, Gretchen Mol, and Michael K. Williams and Bare, written and directed by Natalia Leite and starring Diana Agron, Paz De La Huerta and Chris Zylka.
Next up, Grand Schema will go into production on Treetop, a feature film written and directed by Christopher J. Scott, based on the tragic, true story of Aaron “Treetop” Tuner, an african-american man wrongly accused of murder in racially-charged 1950’s Philadelphia and the lawyer Ed Rome who fought for 12 years to release him from death row.
Grand Schema is also currently partnering with IMAX on an epic adventure documentary, Perfect Flight: The Return to Everest, also directed by Christopher J. Scott, about pioneer Wingsuit BASE jumper Joby Ogywn.
Grand Schema's talent pool's past clients and partnerships include top networks and cable channels including MTV, NBC, CBS, HBO, Google, DirecTV, IFC, PBS and ESPN.
